Programs vanishing from your taskbar, start menu, or your folders? Read this article and discover various solutions to troubleshoot and fix the issue of. Sep 22, 2019 Windows 10 Taskbar Icons Gone? So I recently updated my Windows, to Windows 10. Everything was going great until a day or two ago, my icons on the taskbar are disappearing or invisible, for example, I had pinned Microsoft Edge to the task bar, the space of where the icon should be is there. Although, the image of the program, isn't. Recently I suddenly discovered that when I clicked the All Programs, a lot of programs disappeared. How to resolve this problem? This problem arises when the system runs some system optimization software or is infected with a virus. If just individual programs disappear, you can choose to fix this problem manually. Did you upgrade to Windows 10 and suddenly you can't find the software you had installed? Perhaps Foxit Phantom or even Adobe Photoshop has just disappeared? Not to worry! It's not really gone. The only programs Microsoft will uninstall when you upgrade to Windows 10 would be certain incompatible.
Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded to windows 10 however after the download some of my programs had disappeared (not all of them). Some of the ones that disappeared included steam, malware bytes and google chrome. Some that stayed included MS office 2013, ccleaner and CPUID. After some research I found a windows.old folder which I assume is a backup of everything that was on W8.1. Something I found very strange was that all of my steam game icons were there however needed redownloading. Is it possible to just copy the whole steam folder from windows.old into the program files folder in windows 10 or will I have to redone load everything again? Could I also do this with any other programs or will they not work and is it recommended to delete windows.old? Thanks in advance.
Ps. If anyone could maybe tell me why this has happened then I would really appreciate it! Thank you!!!
